James (Jimmie) Helvie came to the Summit Club in May of 1981, starting as a
busboy on the 25th floor of the club right out of high school, graduating
from Fort Wayne High in Fort Wayne. After turning 21, a year later, Jimmie
became a server on the 25th floor in the grill room, but after working in
banquets for two years, started working on the 26th floor in the main
dining room as a back waiter. Within a short time Jimmie soon became a
captain, and then became floor supervisor from 1991 to 2007 when
promoted to Dining Manager in the spring on 2007.
